Dear Patients
From June 30th 2025 all North-West London GP Practices will be contractually required to accept unlimited on-line consultations throughout core opening hours i.e. 0800 to 1830. We understand your frustrations around accessing GP appointments at Elthorne Park Surgery and have listened to your feedback. We have therefore decided to make a change which will improve your experience of access to appointments at the surgery.
From June 30th we will be fully opening up our on-line access to meet this new requirement. This does however mean that all requests for GP appointments will need to be made on-line. Our on-line consultation platform will change from eConsult to Rapid Health from mid-July. This is a much more advanced and intuitive system which will automatically triage your request and book you into an appropriate appointment. There will be a 2-week transition period when we will have to continue using eConsult.
We are aware that this change will cause some anxiety for those patients unable to reach us on-line. Please be assured that, if this is the case, you will be able to walk-in to the surgery and a member of our team will assist you in completing an on-line request. If you are housebound we will be happy to assist you over the telephone.
We understand this is a big change, so please bear with us whilst it is embedded. Reception will be happy to answer any queries you may have in the coming weeks, and we will be holding a coffee afternoon on Thursday 12th June between 3-4.30pm which you are welcome to attend to find out more.
