Elthorne Park Surgery



We operate a daily am (Mon - Fri), Doctor led, telephone triage for all patients who request either a same day appointment, or who have an urgent query. These patients will be placed in a telephone triage slot and the Duty Doctor that morning will call them back within 2 hours. The outcome will be either-

  1.  Patient offered telephone advice, prescription, certificate etc
  2.  Patient offered a same day appointment with the Doctor
  3.  Patient advised to book a routine appointment, possibly with a specific Doctor

We have changed our appointment lengths-


  • All routine ( booked in advance) appointments with the Doctor will now be 15 minutes long.
  • All urgent(same day) appointments will be 7.5 minutes long. They will be restricted to one urgent problem only.

Booking an Appointment


Appointments can be made either via Reception at the surgery or online. Please register for online booking and prescription requests by bringing proof of ID to reception and follow the link provided.


The practice is open from 8.00am every working day and the phones open at 8.15am

Patients are seen at the surgery by appointment only.

Online Service


To use the online service you must first register for this at the practice. We must see either a passport or photo driving licence to confirm your identity and a utility bill. You must be aged 18 or over and registered with this practice. The reception staff will confirm your identity and then give you a sheet of paper with specific information that is for your own use. Once you have the 'registration information ' from the reception staff you can register online to book or cancel appointments and to order repeat prescriptions.   


Saturday Morning Commuter Service


An Extended Hours service is run on Saturday mornings for patients who find it difficult to access the service during the week due to their hours of work. These appointments must be booked in advance. Please be aware we do not offer any emergency appointments on Saturday as the Out-of-Hours Service caters for this. The session starts at 8.00 or 9.00 am and is for four hours.


Late and Missed Appointments


Please arrive in good time for your appointment. If you are late please be aware that you may have to rebook. We always endeavour to run surgeries to time, but please understand that this is not always possible as some patients have complex needs. Please try to be patient if you are kept waiting for your appointment.  


We have on average 80 missed appointments each month. We would therefore request that if you cannot attend an appointment you inform us as soon as possible so we can release it to be booked by another patient.
